Mohammad Bozorgi’s design, titled I am nobody, who are you?, challenges the notion that war can strip one of identity by cutting ties to country, family, and friends. “Our homeland is in the hearts of those who love us,” Bozorgi asserts. “If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.” The Arabic words for “He is God” loop across the composition, revealing a brightly hued palette emerging in a fractured field of black. “The artwork examines the destroyed roots, distracted hearts, and ruined world, but some colours in my design show the hope,” the artist says. “Just for a few moments, put yourself in my place, can you feel me? We should live together. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.”
